I have what I guess must be a relatively newbie-type question:

I always apply the latest win2k security patches to my network's servers, but I have not done so to my ISA server. I am concerned that the regular pre-SP3 security updates do not apply to ISA server's, and may have adverse side-effects. Can anyone tell me if ISA servers are also supposed to get all those security patches applied, or are they different?

Thanks in advance

Hi Fletcher,

I haven't heard about this one way or another. But a basic rule of thumb with these security patches is to always test them out on a test machine and see what goes haywire. Then, before applying them to the production server, make sure you back up the boot partition and the System State and the ISA Server directories, just in case you have to restore.
