I need help I can get internal mail to flow just fine however the mail destined for the internet just sits in the queue on the mail server. I think this is because I have not configured ISA to let the mail out how can I check this ?

Thank you for your help in advance. I have read Tom's book and others however none reference this admittedly no ideal setup. However when I can afford another box I will move the mail onto it in the DMZ.

Hi Marc,

A few things to consider:

1. Make sure there is a Protocol Rule that allows outbound TCP 25

2. Make sure that name resolution is working on the Exchange Server. You might consider configuring Exchange to use an external DNS server or even your ISPs mail server as a Smart Host

Thanks Tom, I have been able to get DNS working properly and mail send out now just fine. However I can not get mail to flow in ? Any ideas.

Well after reading so much about ISA, I have to say it does work fine it just takes a bit of study. I am recieving mail both ways now and all is working perfect in my world of ISA DMZ.
