Tom,

I think I'm now seeing that problem with SMTP filter. I've been getting a whole bunch of alerts for "Invalid SMTP command", so I took a sniffer trace. Looks like the data should be valid, but ISA is blocking it.

I've also just now noticed that my linux box at work, which uses PostFix to send SMTP, is unable to get the mail through to my exchange, too.

Sigh, SP1 fixed FTP but now broke SMTP. What gives? I really don't want to run without the filter, I like it keeping the SMTP commands in check, but it appears I'm going to have to remove SP1

Unless someone has a fix/workaround <please!>

Tom

Hi Modjo,

Make sure you disable the SMTP filter after installing the SP. The SP breaks it!

SMTP error from remote mailer after end of data:
host host.domain.com [ip address]: 500 5.3.3 Unrecognized command

Is this ISA or is this Exchange??

I installed sp1 which fixed my users' VPN client time-out issue, but I still have, even pre-SP1, been getting denied email thru ISA from win98/win2kpro clients to a Imail server on the internet,so if you find out the SMTP problem, please share

Thanks! Fixed...

A note for the readers here: Have a look at Microsoft Newsgroup as well (microsoft.public.isa on msnews.microsoft.com), I found alot of people moaning about SP1 there too!

Dear all,

My results on SP1:

I have applied the SP1 patch (temporarily not present on the MS site due to SMTP filtering problems) and I was hoping it would solve my concerning issue with returning a blank page when browsing.

According to my users, it would seem that it has helped to reduce the effects of this blank page, but I now sometimes get an error page instead displaying "Page cannot be found" or:

HTTP 404 - File not found
Internet Explorer

This mainly happens more often when my users are trying to POST information to web pages/sites.

My users are having to either restart their browser and try again if they get the HTTP 404 error, or refresh on a blank page effect.

Can you assist me with any advice on this issue? It's quite annoying as you can imagine.

Thanks for your time

Paul Thompson
