i have a zyxel router ( with firewall function) i use it link with cable modem. It provide a function (SAU) that redirect the specific port service to specific IP. It like the publish server in ISA. when i set it to point the ISA server and also use ISA publish the FTP server from internal network. It can't work.
Is that the ISA also use port to determine where it redirect??
My network now is like this:
Cable->Router==>ISA(publish FTP)<==>FTP Server
I set the Router redirect all port 20 and 21 request to ISA. I set the ISA to Publish the FTP server I have alread enable all port commication
Use a cable modem, not router. Or, if you have the option, just map an address on the external interface of the router to the external interface of the ISA Server. I can tell you how to do this will the Win2k RRAS, but have no idea how to do it on your router.
For FTP's they don't use just port 21 you also need to setup port 20 that is the data port. Your setup is kinda confusing. I can tell you this. It can be done you just having somthing configured wrong. I'd have to analyze it to figure out the problem. I just glanced through here.
