How To publish MSN for Exchange for outside world?
I've some problems with MSN for EXchange and MS ISAserver.
Issue: We have two offices. We want to implement voice chat between both offices using MSN for exchange. Both office are using MS ISA. We also have on demand VPN conectivity between the two.
Within LAN, MSN for exchange works. But when we try from remote office then it doesn't. We have MS ISA server at both offices. I connected to VPN of head office from remote office & then successfully logged onto IM. Only thing which didn't worked was the voice chat of IM. There is message at the task bar of IM when I try to start voice chat with a usrer in head office. (Establishing connection to user...... some thing like that)
I've tried it from my home without ISA server. I first connected to VPN of head office. Then IM worked. Even voice chat worked perfectly. But without VPN its not working right now.
My question are:
1) How to publish IM server in MS ISA Server so that remote users can connect to our IM server without connecting to VPN?
2) Is there a way to configure voice Conversation of MSN messenger between two offices, when both offices are under ISA server under any of these coditions:
2-a) We dont have VPN connection between two offices which are behind ISA. 2-b) We have VPN connectivity under ISA firewall.
This is an ideal setup for gateway to gateway VPN. The goal is to allow all the traffic to move between the networks via the tunnel, so that none of the traffic is exposed to the ISA Server policy. That way you'll have voice, video, whatever you want just like all computers were on the same LAN. The Local and Remote VPN Wizards even do the work!
Right now the setup is not working. I would like to have it work in two scenarios:
1) Say if we have ISA only at Head office & remote clients are directly connected to internet without ISA & they don't have to connect to VPN. (If connect to VPN, then every thing work in this case, where ISA is on one end)
2)If client location have ISA too (means ISA on both sides), then how could it be possible to connect to MSN for Exchange without having to connect to VPN.
We want to have it work for us without the need to connect to VPN. So our clients can also login to our MSN to have chat/messaging with us.
Right now its working only in situation, when ISA is only on one end. Only voice feature is not working when ISA is on both ends, even after connecting VPN. (This is the major thing required right now)
