flandin -> Controling access from Internet to Terminal Server (28.Nov.2002 3:11:00 PM)

Hi!

Does anyone know how to solve this...?
I have a Terminal Server that I'd like to publish on the Internet for SOME users of our domain.
These users can be just about anywhere on any given day and connected to the Internet from just about any device or network.
They might not always have a laptop with them and may use a "Kiosk" PC or an Internet Cafe PC or something else.
I don't want everyone to be able to login from the internet and defenetly NOT an administrators of the domain. I just have a few users who want to connect over the Internet.
My thought is this... how do I enable this feature for a specific group of on account or group level?

Regards,
Fredrik

Hi Fredrik,

Unfortunately, Server Publishing Rules only allow you to control access via IP address. You've have to find a non-ISA Server related method to control Terminal Services access locally.

Tom

Do you have any idea what this non-isa product might be? I've been looking everywhere for something and nothing....

Not sure if this helps
try looking for a product called:
terminal server web access
it an active x based product that you down load from MS, that runs on the back end of a web server, so you can TS via your browser, the documentation also shows you how to publish it.

The Terminal Server service itself has the Security control. You can just use it to regulate the access.
