rlong_50 -> E-mail from external E-mail server (3.Jul.2003 6:55:00 PM)

Configuration: Internet - ISA - local network on a Windowsserver2003 with SP1 for ISA installed.
The problem I'm having is users that have external pop3 accounts get the following error message when tring to get their mail.

!Task 'Sundance Diamonds Info - Receiving' reported error (0x800408FC):'Unknown Error 0x800408FC
!Task 'Kevin Allgaier - Receiving' reported error (0x800408FC):'Unknown Error 0x800408FC

They can send and receive from the internal mail server fine, but external gets errors.

Hi R,

Can the users resolve the name of the server?

Are there DNS, POP3 and SMTP protocol rules?

Thanks!
Tom

DNS is working correctly for name resolution.
In the detail it says that the connection to the server was interrupted like it can't authicate.

We have a couple of users doing that and make sure that their IE settings are set to use the proxy in the LAN settings. It seems that outlook uses the IE settings to function. You might have to make them a secure nat also, I will check Monday.

MIDOOooo -> connection to the server was interrupted (19.Apr.2008 2:50:21 PM)

hi all,
i have very annoying problem.
i have exch2007 sp1 enterprize installed.
published through ISA 2006 standard.
everything works fine but when i configure a client to use pop3 account, when it sends mail with attachments like 6 mb. it takes a long time then in the end gives the message "connection to server was interrupted"
i have forefront for exchange installled.
any suggestions to solve this problem.
note: using web access i can get the same attachement working.
is anything related to isa configuration??

try using the ISA 12006 sub-forums instead of ISA 2000
