Hi all,

I know this isn't strictly on-topic for an ISA Server forum, but it's all related. ;o)

I have my internal DNS Server setup to forward any external queries out to my ISP's DNS servers through a separate ISA server. With all of my clients configured to use the internal DNS server, they can now sucessfully nslookup external domains. Most of the time.

Every so often (sorry, really can't be any more specific at the moment) nslookups will start to fail (I know this is happening because our mail server will stop sending mail because it can't do an MX lookup) and will not work until I net stop and then net start the DNS server. Once the DNS server is restarted, the name resolution works fine again. Throughout all of this, internal dns lookups work normally.

If anyone can point me in the right direction with this one I would be most grateful.

All the Best!

Dave

Hi Dave,

Try enabling IP Routing on the firewall in the IP Packet filters Properties dialog box. I think that might do the trick.
