Hello All-

How is the value of the "Cache Hit Ratio %" specifically calculated in the Traffic Summary section of ISA 2000 Summary Reports?

I am able to successfully import the .IRP report file into MS Access 2000. Access creates a table called "Traffic" which contains the following fields:

- Time Interval
- Max Concurrent Connections
- # of Requests
- Total Bytes
- Cached Processing Time
- # of Cached Requests
- Non Cached Processing Time
- # of Non Cached Requests
- # od Cache Hit

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to calculate the "Cache Hit Ratio %". Please help! Thanks!

Regards,

dngan

Sorry folks, I figured it out. Duh!

The value of the Cache Hit Ratio is calculated by using the values of the "Usage" table. The "Usage" table is comprised of the following fields:

- Time Interval
- # of Requests
- Total Bytes
- Total Processing Time
- # od Cache HIt
- Max Concurrent Connections

The Cache Hit Ratio % formula for a given day is:

(Total # od Cache Hit)
-----------------------
(Total # of Requests)

Example:

For 1/1/2004: Total # od Cache Hit = 19460304
Total # of Requests = 51474128

so, 19460304 divided by 51474128 = 0.3789599

Therefore, the Cache Hit Ratio for 1/1/04 is 37.8%

I verified this value with the value listed in the HTML ISA Summary Report for that day, and it matched.

Regards,

dngan
