Hi Set up an isa 2000 server.
need to set up an enviroment whereby some users have access to internet all the time, and some users have access to the internet from 3pm-6pm only.

i have managed to set up the first where some user can access the internet all the time.
i have tried setting up the 2nd scenario but find that outside the allocated time, they keep getting http username & password dialog box.
what i would like is that outside 3-6pm the users are redirected to our internal intranet.

any ideas.

thanks

Hi mackan,

just create a deny rule with a redirection as action.

Thanks,
yes i have done that with a rule that states outside the 3-6pm hours deny,
however when the users view html e-mail or try their luck and click onto IE they get the window asking for authnentication.

Hi mackan,

can you post your *exact* rules and an excerpt of the log file. Just make sure you have enabled the logging of all fields and that the log format is set to ISA format.

HTH,
Stefaan

Hi,

Do not create Deny, what I advise is:
1- Create allow rule for them to allow them to go to all internet for the period allowed.
2- for the period to be directed to Intranet, create an Allow site and content rule that takes them to the destination set which your intranet
