Hi Sunny,

as far as I know a netstat -ano | find ":25" should give you the IP address on which the internal mail server is published.

In my lab environment it looks like

code:

c:\netstat -ano | find ":25"
TCP  192.168.1.10:25  0.0.0.0:0  LISTENING  1908

'192.168.1.10' is the IP address assigned to the ISA external interface. The PID is 1908 and resolves to the Image Name 'wspsrv.exe' which is the Firewall service on ISA 2004.

i've notice when i add the inbound rule in first before i do a reset for the first time it looks right, but after the reset there is nothing when i do the netstat -ano | find ":25"...

Hi Sunny,

that doesn't sound good! Again, you should investigate thoroughly why the incoming mail is working. Taling a NetMon or Ethereal trace is strongly adviced.
