Good day,

I have configured isa 2004 enterprise edition using the single network adapter template to act as a web proxy service.

The server hardware is a Dell 2850 with Dual Intel ProSet 1000baseT network cards, one disabled.

I have narrowed the issue down to the following situation: When the ISA server is connected to a Gigabit switch, performance is great. When the ISA server is connected to a 100 Mbit switch, performance suffers horribly. Normal throughput to the internet is reduced by a factor of 4. For example when I am using the server as a proxy service I will get around 30Kbps whereas download speeds should be in the neighborhood of 120kbps. This is not a problem with the switch for a download initiated on the ISA server itself via internet explorer will reach the normal rate while at the same time a client connecting through the proxy service of the ISA service will be experiencing reduced throughput.

Can anyone point me at something I might look at in the configuratoin?

thanks,

-Mike

Have you simply tried to tie down the network card speed to the same speed as the switch (i.e 100Mb and either full duplex or half duplex)...Your problem sounds to network based than anything else so try this first.
