We have a policy that denies all computers access to the Internet for complicated reasons, suffice to say it has to be done this way. We have a list of computers in an exception list, does ISA server resolve computer names if the DHCP assigned IP changes if not how can we get around this issue? We need to assign all IPs via DHCP and up to now have not been able to because (I haven't been able to verify this one way or the other but have been reliably informed...) ISA 2004 doesn't resolve computer names if they are DHCP assigned. This issue is coming to a head because we need to switch the entire IP range we use and switch everybody to DHCP.

You are SOL. ISA 2004 doesn't resolve computer names.

Why not?

I use DHCP reservations in cases where I need firewall rules for specific computers.

It doesn't resolve mobile users on multiple sites.
