Cisco VPN Client - 14.Feb.2004 7:01:00 AM
Guest
I am a relative newbie to ISA server. I decided to give 2004 Beta a try. I am attempting to connect Cisco VPN client (v 3.5A) to a Cisco VPN through ISA server 2004 firewall. My client is setup as a Secure NAT and I have opened both the IPSec NAT-T and the IPSec IKE Firewall Policies for all internal to all external. The Cisco VPN client dies on "Securing Communication Channel..." What am I missing??

Hi Newbie,

You should not need to open IKE for outbound access, just the UDP ports used by the cisco implementation of NAT-T. What UDP ports do they use?

Thanks!
Tom

Thanks for your help Tom. I have discovered that the problem is caused by my cabl)Internet provider blocking the port (62514) that the Cisco client is using for the NAT Tunneling

Hi Newbie,

Ha! Yes, I bet that is a common problem.

Thanks!
Tom
