We have a remote location that has 2 machines that need to establish a VPN connection to our corporate office via ISA 2004.

We are using L2TP/IpSec. One of the PCs which is hardwired to the remote-LAN can connect with no problem. However, the second PC which is Wireless 802.11b/g cannot connect and we get error 678 after about 2 minutes.

The remote connection to the internet is a DLINK DI-624M wireless router/switch.

Can anyone shed some light on this subject as it seems strange that the PC wired connection to the DI-624M connects and the PC wireless does not.

Hi W,

Might be a problem with the NAT device. Many of them don't support multiple VPN connections to the same destination server.

HTH,
Tom

We have an ISA 2004 in HQ and D-Link DI-808HV in branch office

ISA Server and D-Link configured as described in article.

When branch office connect HQ for the first time - all OK,
but after disconnection D-Link can't connect anymore

In Security Log on ISA computer apear events 547
IKE security association negotiation failed.
...
Failure Reason:
The application attempted to activate a disabled activation context.

After restarting Microsoft firewall service D-Link can conect once more

How can I rid off this problem ???
