I have a question about the firewall service. As I understand the ISA firewall service supports recieving requests from firewall clients and securenat clients and determines weather to redirect their http requests to the local web proxy and provide caching or just allow direct access through the ISA server not providing caching. Done through the http redirector filter. Now for the other traffic the firewall service basically intercepts Winsock API calls made by compatible applications and redirects thier requests through the ISA server using the proxy service. So this basically makes winsock compatible applications believe they are accessing the internet directly as in fact they are having their requests redirected through the ISA server. IS this understanding right?

Hi ER,

Sounds like you have a good understanding of how it works. I agree with your assumptions.
