I need some Help... I am kinda New at ISA Server and am trying to Block web chat. I have found it easy to block whole web sites but when it comes down to blocking part of a web site for Example at Yahoo or AOL, it is not working. I am using the URL to block and not the IP. For example have a Destination set setup to Block jpager.Yahoo.com Does not work but if I have *yahoo.com it works, but no access to anything on Yahoo. I have tried http://www.yahoo.com with Directory path as /jpager/* or /chat/* no success. I know it is something simple I am missing or Doing wrong. Anyone please help. Thank You John

Hi John,

check out http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/ISA_Server_Destination_Sets_and_Inbound_ and_Outbound_Access.html

BTW --- this is not the proper topic for your question. If you need further assistance, please start a new topic.

Stefaan,

I appreciate you sending me to the other site but that does not answer my question still. If you read my problem it is referring to Subdomains. I see no examples on your documentation nor on Dr shinders. I was replying to your documentation from your post on Destination sets that is why I posted here and it was referrenced by you on that same page. www.isaserver.org/tutorials/The_Mystery_of_the_HTTP_Redirector_and_SiteContent_Rules.htm

Hi John,

my article and this topic is about one very specific configuration setting of the HTTP Redirector and how destination sets are handled by the Firewall service. However, you are talking about a site&content rule in the Web proxy service and that is very well explained in Tom's article I pointed you to.

You should start a new topic in one of the forums for your issue! Nevertheless, have you already looked in the Web proxy log files?

Thanks,
Stefaan

Hi. i'm not sure if this is the right place for my question but here it is anyway... I am investigating if we can migrate from a Linux/Squid Proxy to MS ISA server. Apparently this is possible, retaining most of the functionality that Squid offers. At this point we have a large list of blocked sites. If we switch to ISA server, is there a possibility to do a bulk import of our (or other) blocked site lists (e.g. porn sites) so that we don't have to start all over from scratch again?

--> In the meanwhile I found an answer to this question myself at http://www.toolzz.com/ISAToolzz.htm (banner.vbs and banner.txt)

But I remain open to other suggestions ;-)

Thanks in advance!

I am assuming the registry key change needs to be made on each of the ISA servers?

Hi Chetan,

why not put those alternate URL's in the blocked site destination set too? [Wink]

Hi Admin2003,

as far as I know, ISA 2004 doesn't have an HTTP Redirector filter at all! Therefore, I suggest you post your Interdev authentication problem in the ISA 2004 forums.

Thanks,
Stefaan
