isasgn69 -> Server name change (9.Jan.2003 12:28:00 AM)

I have just replaced an isa server with another isa server. when i did this i removed the old isa server from the network and renamed the new isa server to the same nameand ip.
The proxy works fine and is in integrated mode. isa config looks a little screwy with its original name still being used in some settings and the services are listed still with the old name and are unavailable. the services cannot be stopped or started and rebooting has not cleanly fixed this. it looks like it is confused on what the name of the server is?
any ideas would be great...

Hi isasgn69,

change the data here as needed and restart the ISA services:

1. Shut down all ISA services
2. Rename the machine (DO NOT RESTART YET)
3. Change the following regkeys:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fpc\Arrays\{GUID}\Servers\{GUID}]
"msFPCName"="<servername>"
"msFPCFQDN"="<server.fqdn>"
"msFPCHttpViaHeaderAlias"="<server.fqdn>"
4. Close Regedit
5. Restart the server

HTH,
Stefaan

One more item to add..

Go to client configuration
Select Firewall Client
Right click on properties
Update your DNS name..

Hi lemonwater925,

correct! I find it so obvious I allways forget to mention that item! [Big Grin]

Thanks,

I went throught the same procedure of replacing an ISA server in my environment. After going throught the entire registry and changing any instance of the old server name to the new one, many "issues" that showed up after the rename were corrected.

I am now having a problem with scheduling the ISA reporting. I can set up a report under 'report jobs', but it never shows up in 'Reports' under 'Monitoring'. It also never shows up in the ISAReports directory. There is a directory with the GUID, but nothing under it.

Any help would be appreciated.
