I'm using an application that downloads updates from a website using port 443 and 81. But i'm not sure how to define it. Or even if I have to define it. All I know is the we cannot get out to the site. How do I know if the application requires TCP or UDP? I see where port 443 is already defined by default but 81 is not. WHat does port 81 do?

Thanks "[Confused]"

Hi T,

You need to create a protocol definition and protocol rule to allow outbound TCP 81, if that's what is required. The vendor knows the correct ports.

HTH,
Tom

Port 443 should not require any protocol definitions, Right. Since it is already pre-defined. [Wink]

Does that require the firewall client to be installed? [Confused]
