duffo -> Query the Logs?? (15.Dec.2004 6:47:00 PM)

I'm sorry this is such a basic question and if there is a FAQ or article somewhere feel free to point me to that.

I am getting used to ISA 2004, and so far happy with the MSDE logging, it is a lot easier to trawl through than the old TXT logging in 2000.

So far I have oly been able to access the logs in Real Time via the Monitoring Section of the ISA2004 console.

How do I access the logs historically and how do I do complex queries on the logs like SELECT DISTINCT etc.

Thanks in advance
Tim

Hi Duffo,

Use the Edit Filter dialog box. This will provide the options that are available to you.

Does anyone know what login/password to use to connect to the MSDE databases with query analyzer or a report writer?

Just use integrated authentication from a domain admin account. From there an QA or EM you can set up other id's if needed for non-integrated access, though I think integrated is generally better.
