Hi There.
I would like to do the same thing. Thanks for this wonderful site and your patience and help ...Tom. It really is great. How effective would using url sets be ??? can we define our own "block pages" if this method is used? I saw a note from you offering to send a script for blocking words . How would this work??

Hi Leslie,

I do have a script that you can use to import a list of URLs from a text file into a URL Set and then create a Deny Rule that prevents access to the sites in the URL Set. However, you'll have to find the sites to put into the text file [Big Grin]

Send me a note and I'll send you the script.

HTH,
Tom

I had the same problem blocking secureNAT clients
with ISA2004. The requests seem to reach the server with URLs resolved. I had to block the IP
addresses of the requested sites. I face the same
problem when monitoring the log. I cannot see the URLs Only the IPs

Hi Emad,

Have you configured your clients as Web Proxy clients? All operating systems support this config, so you never have to relie on the SecureNAT client config for Web access.

Tom

After 20 minutes of trying I understood that I must create the URL Set before executing the VBS. [Wink]

The problem is that the filter I created doesn't work correctly. It blocks the domains, not only the urls. I explain: in the URL there is "adv.hwupgrade.it" but the filter block the entire domain "hwupgrade.it".

I also tryied adding the http:// (directly in the VBS --> URLSet.Add "http://" & UrlsFile.ReadLine), but It still doesn't work.

Maybe must I put the url list in "Domain Name Sets" ?

Hi Pnx,

Do you want to block the entire domain, or just a specific URL?

Thanks!
Tom

I just want to block some specific URLs. [Wink]

I've a list of AD URLs and the filter blocks all the banners and similar... So, specific urls. [Smile]

In the ULR Set window It is written something like "if your DNS is not configured propely this could not work". Maybe is It a DNS problem?
