Proxy Chaining - 17.Dec.2004 4:41:00 PM

Hello,
I've installed on a server Windows 2003 ISA 2004 Std. but I've some problem
using the Web Chaining feature: previously in this server I've installed ISA
2000 and TrendMicro Interscan VirusWall SMB 5.0. I've configured ISA 2000
(listening on port 8080) to forward the HTTP request to the TrendMicro
service (listening on port 8081) that was the upstream server configured in
the routing policy and all works fine.
After I've upgraded ISA form 2000 to 2004 version, also importing the
previously configuration or recreating all rules (firewall policy with http
policy without restriction, and web chaining policy) I receive the following
error message:
"Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The parameter is incorrect. (87) ".
Please suggest me how can I solve this problem
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi all,

we discover that this problem appear only if the Trend Micro and ISA 2004
are on the same server. If these services are splitted on different service
che Web Chaining rule mentioned below work correctly.
Now the problem is that the ISA 2004 firewall service drop the communication
(or probably enter in a strange loop) from the ISA 2004 web proxy and the
TrendMicro HTTP Proxy when both are on the same machine.
We have tested also that if we enable the web chaining rule and in the
browser configuration we set directly the TrendMicro HTTP Proxy (bypassing
the ISA 2004 web proxy) the error mentioned below appears again.
The same thing happens if on the ISA 2004 we don't set any proxy in the
browser configuration and we try to connect to an internet site. ISA 2004
intercept this communication and redirect all packet on the host:port
configured in the web chaining rule.
Now the question is: It's possible to bypass this problem ?

Thanks for all suggestion
