Running ISA 2004 on W2K server. Single NIC, cache proxy mode according to template. Proxy working well, but it appears cache is not. Weekly reports for cache performance always have "information not available" perfmon shows nothing coming from cache. Cache is enabled on drive. Network Service and System have appropriate permissions to root according to other posts, and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas?? Already pulled last of the hair out, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Created Cache drive during all the repeated attempts with the task page. Enable caching brings up drives, set size, then apply and restart service. Cache is there according to windows explorer, size is correct, permissions for network service are correct, and in ISA mmc cache rules are default. Still no caching. I would like to know what is up. Am building new box that will use isa as interior firewall(multihomed) behind Cisco Pix, and during testing Cache worked fine. But its driving me nuts why single nic config isn't working right now! BTW nice job on the book but I can't find the downloadable template for hardening the ISA server you mentioned. I would like to compare it to the one I have created using your book.
