I understand what this is I just don't seem to understand what settings effect it.

When I restart the system and look at system monitor this counter stays at zero. I go away for 10 minutes or so and then this counter pegs itself at 100 and stays there forever more.

What cache settings effect this counter?
How does changing these settings effect this counter? If I incease the setting will the graph go up or down, etc?

It seems like I've changed every cache setting I can find and nothing seems to effect this counter.

Thank you

Joel

Huh? What counter where? ISA 2k or 2K4? W2K or W2K3?

On an ISA server 2K4, there are two large consumers of memory. One is the MSDE if installed, and the other the RAM cache if configured.

Seeing hows we are in the ISA Server 2004 Cache message board I would have thought would be apparent. Maybe not.

ISA Server 2004
Windows 2000 server

In the ISA Server Performance Monitor there is a counter entitled Memory Usage Ratio %. It's pink in my computer.

I understand that the cache uses a lot of memory. I'm trying to find out which settings for the cache effects the Memory usage ration percent and how?

Joel
