After configuring Cache on the ISA server, our internet bandwidth usage has got better. The problem now is that when opening web pages, the entire pane freezes until the page is fully loaded and then only displayed. Also, when opening e-mails with web content, the entire Outlook program Hangs until the message has fully loaded.
Any ideas on how to fix this or is this how ISA works?

Hi Dorris,

Two things commonly cause this:

1. The DNS settings on the ISA firewall are incorrect

2. The Web proxy clients are not configured to use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections.

HTH,
Tom

I have configured my Web proxy clients to use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections and I still have the same problem. How could there be a problem with DNS settings on the ISA computer?

Hi Dorris,

What are the DNS settings on the internal and external interfaces of the ISA firewall?

Thanks!
Tom

The Internal Nic and two DNS Addresses. One each for the DNS servers on the LAN.
The External Nic has a DNS address on the Internal Nic?
I installed the DNS settings according to a Document I found on the Net.
Is this wrong? If so, is there a better guide Ishould follow? Think-you.

Added DNS info - The ISA box is set to forward the DNS requests to my internal DNS servers. The Internal DNS servers are set to forward requests to my ISP's DNS servers. My ISP is not so big, perhaps I should point the Forwarder to the Root Hints server(recommended by a friend)?

CORRECTION Sorry!
I double checked my ISA DNS. Under forwarders, there are 3 addressed of my ISP's DNSServers. "Do not user recursion" is checked.
