Ok this is a pretty basic newbie question. The web proxy functionality built into ISA 2004 and the use of wpad.dat file for auto configuration; will that work with the Firefox web browser?

Also, can I have the secureNAT and firewall clients turned on together?

Last, if a site does not exist in the cache does the ISA server go out onto the net and get that site?

Thanks,

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

It might, but I don't know if Firefox is RFC compliant. Check the docs for the browser.

From the searches I did on the net I believe it is. With the auto-configuration setting turned on, FireFox would look for http://wpad/wpad.dat on the network. From there it would get the information it needs to find the proxy server.

Has anyone tired this yet? Is this possible with FireFox?

There are thousands of RFCs. Which one would apply to this particular issue?
