whorsfall -> Transparent Proxy Questions. (30.Sep.2005 2:05:00 PM)

Hi,
Can I get some clarification.
It looks like from my testing the ISA 2004 can operate as a "transparent proxy" or a directed proxy (eg 192.168.50.1:8080 for the proxy settings in Explorer).
1. So is my assumtion correct here - in both modes if I have active caching turned on - will it cache the pages regardless of which mode is on?
2. It looks like the directed proxy is a lot faster - is this normal? I tried the same test opening up www.google.com in both modes and could visable see the difference. 3. If I am using a transparent proxy the client is considered a SecureNAT client?
Sorry for the basic questions - just wanted to start on the right track
Thanks,
Ward. [ September 30, 2005, 02:06 PM: Message edited by: whorsfall ]
