I use WPAD in my internal DNS, and it seems to be working. My internal DNS uses forwarders from our ISP. If i go to a machine that has the firewall client installed, and i go to IE and remove automatically detect settings, and remove use a proxy server, then i get this 403 Forbidden - The ISA Server denies the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)
Internet Security and Acceleration Server

Shouldnt the firewall be able to get to the internet without makin the client a web proxy client as well. If i disable the firewall client, and check automatically detect settings, then it works. In the client configuration node, i have common configuration =L. So doesnt this mean that the firewall client looks to the local DNS server first? Is this all by design, or is something wrong here.

Hi Skip,

There is a permissions issue. The Firewall client can't send credentails to the Web Proxy service.

HTH,
Tom
