I have a new client machine I am working on going through ISA Server 2000 with the service pack 1 installed running on Windows 2000 Server with SBS 2000 - Service Pack 3.
The client is a new windows 2000 professional and has this error on boot...
"The Application or DLL c:\Program Files\Microsoft Firewall Client\wspwsp.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette"
I am not able to do just about anything on the client PC. This message comes up with an "ok" button on boot and comes up repeatedly without allowing anything to be done on the client pc. This error is also a factor in safe mode and the same results.
I have searched both the web and the microsoft support site with no result. I know I can format the system and go around the problem, but I want to fix it in case I see it again.
Thank you in advance.

Actually I have been trying to do that since I posted - and it doesnt even show up in the Add/Remove Programs menu - in regular windows or in safe mode.
I also noticed that the error window box has on it for a title "Services.exe - Bad Image"

Since I have started this post it is now giving that error on 3 client pc's. I have never seen this before and am a little stumped. This is the only ISA Server 2000 that I have the service pack 1 installed on though I wonder if they are related.
I would start looking at other problems, like disk corruption or virus infection. I've never seen nor heard of these errors before, so something very unusual is happening. You might want to run a virus scan on the ISA Server and clients and also run chkdsk on the ISA Server. The CD or SP1 media might be bad too.

This is a brand new server with all brand new clients. I have a virus scanner running on the server and it comes up with nothing, along with McAfee 7.0 on the clients. I formatted one of the bad clients today and reinstalled and now everything works fine - with no errors whatsoever - but I am still seeing that message on 2 others.
