Guys,

Is there a way to maintain a list of winsock applications that are "allowed" to use the FWC rather than maintaining a list of known apps and then disable those.

The clients shouldn't be able to install any further winsock apps that have been already installed but just in case I want to control which apps use the FWC. What I don't want to do is to play catch-up and disable apps that I've later found out that the clients are using.

TIA

Jas

Hi Jason,

Yes, I believe this is possible. First you deny all applications in the general settings in the mspclnt.ini file and then allow them one at a time. I suspect it would take some work to get the bugs out because no everyone knows exactly what applications are required. I'll get back to the person I was talking to about this last week and refresh myself with the details.

Thanks!
Tom
