We're getting ready to introduce a couple new ISA servers into the array and decommission the old one. I wanted to find out if there is an easy way to reconfigure the clients that have the Firewall Client installed so their software reflects the new server name. Does it require a re-install from the new server or maybe just a change to some local file(s)?

Thanks!

Hi Kid,

You can configure a wpad entry in DNS and then confirm that the firewall clients are set to autodetect.

HTH,
Tom

Tom, there doesn't seem to be a good option here. If I use DNS, I can only specify one ISA server per domain (I need to load balance). If I use DHCP, the clients can't autoconfigure unless the user is at least a Power Users group member. What do companies with large complex networks and multiple ISA servers do?

Thanks!
