KPHutch -> MAC firewall Client (20.Sep.2004 2:50:00 PM)

How do I allow my MACs (2) to access and FTP site and download files? They both have full Internet access through the firewall but can not connect to any FTP sites.

Hi KPHutch,

there doesn't exist a Firewall client for non-Windows OS's. So, you can only configure the MAC as a Web Proxy and SecureNAT client.

When the MAC is configured as a SecureNAT client *and* the FTP application filter is enabled on ISA, the FTP should be handled transparently by the ISA server.

Sounds good, but I do not know how to do either of those. I have searched the SBS server and it appears FTP is enabled but can not find anywhere to enable SecureNAT for either of the MACs.

Hi KPHutch,

for more info about the different ISA clients types, check out Jim Harrison's excellent articles over at http://www.isaserver.org/Jim_Harrison/. An internal host is configured as a SecureNAT client if his default gateway points to the ISA internal interface.
