Hello to all gurus...there is a problem suddenly came in my network that is delay of Firewall Client Updation, can any one tell me what is the reason, it was runing perfect 2 before, i m fed up with this problem, kindly reply me.. waiting for your reply

Hi mrdotcom,

what do you *exactly* mean with "there is a problem suddenly came in my network that is delay of Firewall Client Updation"? [Confused]

The Firewall client configuration is updated whenever:
- you login to your pc.
- every 6 hours.
- you push the update now buttom.

hello ..
i mean to say that my network and ISA was running smoothly, but i m realizing that firewall client is not updating properly ...like sometimes it updates but after few seconds, and sometime error comes... i can resolve what the problem is

u are definately using isa evaluation version ....anyway here is the solution

one or more pcs on ur network are infected with a variant of blaster or backdoor.nibu .... first patch those systems with rpc patch and lsass patch from microsoft site... then after patching run an updated antivirus like norton corporate ....and also a spyware scanner like xoftspy from www.paretologic.com .... this is the best scanner i have found and have been using it on my network for more than 5 months on 130 pcs .... after scanning all the machines u shud not have any more problem with isa client delayed updation....

on the isa server run this command in a command prompt: netstat -an | find ":135" :this will give u the ip addresses of the current pcs with an active rpc session ..... check all of them for blaster they are the systems causing the trouble .....
