With the release of ActiveSync 4.0 and Windows Mobile 5.0 a new issue has arisen that I can't seem to figure out. It appears that the Pocket PC device creates a new connection on the PC which then synchronizes over TCP/IP to the local desktop using the IP address 169.254.2.2/255.255.255.0. However our devices won't sync with the ISA client enabled, and will when it is disabled. I used the latest article from isaserver.org to create a locallat.txt file to exclude the 169.254.2.0 network and it works fine. When I attempt to add this to the LAT on the ISA server it gives me an error saying that my external interface of my ISA is using 192.168.0.2 and is listening on a port, and it doesn't allow me to modify my LAT. How are these two related, and how can I fix it permanently. Thanks for your help.
