currently ISA 2006 Std is my firewall, doing most of the tasks but crashing too often.
I've got a Cisco ASA 5505 to replace the firewall and looking to use the ISA as proxy.
is there a good\right way of switching or should I reinstall ISA (to remove all firewall traces)?
if I use it as proxy server, can I use the existing black listed sites (without turning the firewall service on)?

And you never found out what was causing ISA to crash ?!

How are you going to use it ? with a single network card ?

believe me that I tried but nothing obvious is poping at me.
I had tooooooo many times that the firewall service just died. no explanations!

to your question,
I can do it with 1 or 2 NICs, depend on the best practice
I was thinking of 2:
LAN, will get the users requests
DMZ (connected to the ASA), access to the web
