Ok, this is killing me. I want to set this up after our firewall. The firewall is a dhcp server but i want to put this after it, give the external nic a static, then have it be a dhcp (and i guess dns) server. however when ever i try i never can get it working.

Hello, thanks for the link, it did get me from no dhcp to something, however im still haveing problems connecting. I think one thing i cant understand is how does isa know which ethernet adapter is external and which one is internal? oh also i fotgot the diag if it helps static external ip || firewall (192.168.1.1-192.168.2.254) || (192.168.1.19) ISA (192.168.1.1-192.168.2.254) || internal

I think one thing i cant understand is how does isa know which ethernet adapter is external and which one is internal? The Answer is quote:
The default External network is a dynamic network that includes all IP addresses not explicitly included in any other network. The network definition changes dynamically when other networks are defined and modified. It cannot be directly modified or deleted. The External network generally represents the Internet. By default, it has a NAT relationship with all other networks. Following installation, the External network includes all addresses not defined in the Internal network, the IP address of the Local Host network (127.0.0.1), and the IP address of all other network adapters on the Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway server. Ok, i have spent so much time trying to get this to work and not having any success. Here is exactly what i did install win server 2003 r2 sp2 assign one card an external address 192.168.1.19, entered default gateway and dns and subnet the other card i gave a 192.168.3.1 ip and a subnet, nothing else installed dhcp and bound it to the 3.1 card installed isa configured the internal to 192.168.3.1-192.168.3.254 made it a back firewall configuration. made rule to accept request and reply for dhcp (i do get dhcp on the network) made a rule to accept http, dns, ping from internal to external and localhost however everytime i connect i dont get anything but dhcp. i cant ping the interface or anything
