this is sbs2003 and isa is not running that i can find, eg, not in programs or admin tools list
and if this forum is not correct for this, i apologize, and would ask if someone knows the right forum to address my problems
i didn't setup this server but inherited it, and cannot get ftp responding to any external request, but i can bring it up on sbs machine itself.
an ftp source suggested i try here after exhausting a long list of checks there.
the question arose, is windows firewall blocking port 22. when i checked windows firewall (the one thats on the control panel), i got this message:
'windows firewall cannot run because another program or service is running that might use the nat component, ipnat.sys'
the only nat i know of is on my tiny comcast router, that forwards and nats and thats it, i have port 22 fwded to the sbs machine
i'm running iis, exchange, remote desktop, mysql, php, nothing that should use port 22, there is no other box between the router and sbs
any ideas ??
