2006 SE server running on W2k3 SP2 single nic template 1. accessing a website on a different subnet by IP fails using autodetect 2. using a static proxy when accessing by IP it works 3. accessing the device by DNS works using auto detect 4. accessing website by IP on same subnet as ISA works 5. on the addresses tab for internal properties I have listed 0.0.0.1 - 126.255.255.255 and 128.0.0.0-255.255.255.254 6. on web browser tab I have bypass bypass prody for webservers on this network, directly access computers specifided in the domains tab (my domains tab is blank) and directly access computers specified in the addresses tab selected. 7. we use DHCP to push WPAD information. Where else do I look? We're moving from our 2004 ISA server and we never had this issue on that system. Thanks

Hey there...the problem turned out to be caused by Websense. If that happens to be your issue it's likely related to blocking advertisements and it's a real PITA to have that category blocked. Ruso

Hi.. No websense is use... For accessing websites without domain names (so accessing on IP address) , IE tries to directly connect to the webserver without using the ISA/Proxy server. As clients do not have directly access to internet, this causes some troubels. If I turnoff the automatic detection and use a static proxy, then all traffic is routed trough the proxy. Any idea?

Well, my guess would be that it has something to do with the following...under Config, networks, internal what do you have listed for addresses...best practices should be 0.0.0.1 - 126.255.255.255 and then 128.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.254. What do you have listed under the web browser tab? I guess the chances are that the problem lies somewhere within the internal network config. Ruso

Hi, I had some wierd IP ranges configured 0.0.0.1 - 126.255.255..255 and 128.0.0.0- 255.255.255.254 After removing these an restarting th ISA server , the issue was solved. Still unclear why these ranges are set in a default installation. Thanks, Bastiaan
