Hi all,

I have an w2k3 server running exchange 2k3 sp2. (single so no FE/BE). I want to publish this for OWA and OMA through a 2k server running ISA 2k.

Is this safe/secure enough to do? what are the risks compared to doing it through ISA 2k4 or 6? or with a FE server? I don't want to fork out for a license unless i have to!

Thanks in advance,

bw11

Hi All as an update to this...
I'm having some problems publishing exchange 2k3 on (on server 2k3 single server so no FE/BE) through isa 2k fp1 sp2 (on server 2k sp4). I want to set it up for OWA initially, then OMA. I have a cisco router which performs nat from external ip to isa's external ip, then that should then redirect to my exchange server's ip on the network. should this work and be secure enough?

I can get it working if i take isa out of the equation, i.e. nat from external ip to exchange, and i have run through the owa publishing wizard on isa (and also the tutorials on isaserver.org) so assume it must be down to
isa's web publishing rule. (I just get 'page cannot be displayed') the nat rule on my router passes from the router external ip to isa's external ip, then the web publishing rule has destination ip as the isa's external ip and
action is to 'redirect request to internal web server' which is my exchange. all of this should be using ssl which again works ok without isa.

what could be going wrong here? any troubleshooting tips would be very much
welcomed!

thanks in advance,
bw11
