I'm evaluating the trial version of ISA Server 2004.

Currently, I have ISA2K4 installed in a single adapter configuration, and have it directly cabled to my Watchguard Firebox X firewall ('transparent' configuration).

The firewall is configured to use the ISA2K4 box as its proxy server.

So, HTTP requests coming from my internal network get passed via the firewall to the ISA2K4 box.

(Because of my environment, a widely dispersed, unmanaged WAN for a public library system, configuring the browsers individually is not possible right now.)

This setup is working great, except for a few sites I've run across that aren't accessible through this configuration. A couple of example sites are:

http://www.ebay.com
http://catalog.multcolib.org/

Basically, when I try to get to either of these sites, I get an HTTP 403 error.

If I disable the caching proxy server on the firewall, and instead point a browser directly at the ISA caching server, I can get to these sites without any difficulty.

So, the problem seems to be in the communication between the firewall and ISA Server 2004.

So far, the logs from the firewall and ISA2K4 haven't told me anything too interesting.

Any thoughts or ideas about what my be the problem, or things that I could try?

(I'd love to hang the ISA2K4 off my backbone Cisco router instead, but I guess ISA2K4 doesn't support WWCP.)
