I have a small domain of 7 servers and about 50 pc's. I also have a small branch office of 2 servers and 8 pc's. The branch office works as a workgroup and not a domain, but i've been asked to link the two offices together, but not to make the branch office machines domain members. The link is required as on the domain we would like a live copy of the branch offices current data for backup and quick access, without the need for an FTP upload/download. We also would like them to access our in-house library of published documents on are intranet, nothing else. (If this is not possible then dont worry, it just a wish). Is this possible? Is there a tutorial on this site detailing how? (i cant find one, only site to site domain ones), or does someone know how? If this is not possible and my best option is making the servers domain members and allowing the everyone group full access to the file server share for the workgroup PC's, please could you inform me why, as information seems to be a little light on this area from what i can find on google. Many Thanks

Hi, from what I understood the VPN site-to-site configuration is not a problem for you. The only problem is provide access to the branch office users. Iīll focus on that. quote:
We also would like them to access our in-house library of published documents on are intranet, nothing else. (If this is not possible then dont worry, it just a wish). Itīs possible to do it. You control the access of the VPN using access rules. If you want only they check yours intranet, so allow only the http and maybe the https protocol. About the network access (shares). Once the computers are not joined to domain, what you can do is create domain accounts for these users and pass the credential to them. So, when they try to acces these shares, windows willl prompt for their credentials. Remember, you have to create an access rules allowing this kind of access. Regards, Paulo Oliveira.
