hi-

i've read several post about attempting to use two internet connections, for immediate redundancy... but this isn't exactly what i'm after.  i am attempting to send our internet network internet browsing through a cable modem (originally a dynamic IP) and any server publishing over a T1.

this was working with relatively few hiccups - until i switch from a dynamic IP on the cable modem to a static ip.  now - i can get one connection to work or the other... but not both at the same time.

any thoughts on getting our outbound workstation traffic to use the cablemodem and inbound server oublishing to use our T1?

TIA.

i wanted to include a little more info - since this is somewhat interesting (to me) that it doesn't work.

when dynamic ip is used on cable modem-
Cable NIC: get IP settings from DHCP server (including gateway)
T1 NIC: static IPs, no gateway

result: no issues - surfing uses cable modem, server publishing over T1 works.

when using static ip on cable modem-
cable NIC: static IP and gateway
T1 NIC: static IPs, no gateway

result: server publishing does not work externally - surfing uses cable modem with no issues.

I find this bizarre as they're virtually the same setup, except the information is delivered via DHCP, instead of manual entry.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

TIA.
