Hi Guys Is there someway to clear the DNS cache that is used by ISA 2000? It doesn't seem to be using the main DNS server on the SBS. I am trying to connect to one of my clients using vnc viewer. I have a SBS2003 dualhomed server running ISA 2000 (yes I know I should have upgraded it by now). This client has a dynamic ip address but they are using dyndns so we can use theirname.dnsalias.comThe problem is that vnc cannot connect using theirname.dnsalias.com.However I can ping theirname.dnsalias.com and even telnet to port 5900 on that address. nslookup and ping return the correct ip address for thiername.dnsalias.com and I can even connect using vnc to that ip address however I can't get a vnc connection to that name. I have used Ethereal to capture the packets and it seems as though in the resolve acknowledge packet the msproxy client is receiving the OLD ip address for this domain name from the ISA server. I have tried to flush the DNS on the client and server but still the OLD address gets returned! Is there someway to clear the DNS cache that is used by ISA 2000? It doesn't seem to be using the main DNS server on the SBS. Many thanks Darwood

There is only one good way to handle the DNS.

Everything on the LAN,...even the SBS/ISA machine itself,...should use only the AD/DNS on the SBS/DC.

Then in the config of the DNS within the DNS MMC you need to add the ISP's DNS to the Forewarders List.

Flush the DNS on the SBS box by going to a command prompt and typing "IPConfig /FlushDNS"
