I have an ISA 2004 server which is used solely as a web proxy.  The intent is to use Surfcontrol, which is also installed on the server, to block undesirable web activity.

I've found that my log files, both Surfcontrol and ISA, are useless without me checking the box "require authentication", as the log files will not contain usernames otherwise.

Half of my user community connect with VPN, and therefore do not fully log in to the network.  Their access is via cached credentials, which ISA server doesn't want to recognize.  These users are presented with a login window when the try to browse the Internet.  Unacceptable.

Anyone know any tricks to make ISA accept the cached credentials as "good enough"?  I know....tell the users to do a pre-login VPN connection, and actually log in to the network.  I wish I could take that route...but that shipped has sailed.
