Hello everyone

We tried to block some sites such as: facebook.com, youtube.com.. ....and IP addresses by using DNS server and Monowall firewall. But some users could access those blocked sites through www.ibypass.com proxy server
I wonder that the ISA Server 2006 can handle this problem.

Thanks

Tri

You can certainly block whatever sites you want to block.  Some proxies use sneaky SSL tunneling.  You can block them either by their IP, by using the Firewall client to restrict their client apps, or by using ClearTunnel to inspect SSL traffic at ISA.

Hi,

you have different options
  1. start filling a DOMAIN NAME Set with these anonymouse proxy sites
  2. importing a ready made domain name set/ url set into your ISA Server, such lists can be found here : http://isaserver.bm/destination_sets.html
  3. Getting a 3rd party application that would do this on your behalf, such a greate software is GFI Web Monitor 4, which has WebGrade Database that contains more than 84 Category that you can choose any to block

HTH,
Tarek

Thanks for your help and tips.

I have problem with ClearTunnel. The problem is, all HTTPS sites are blocked after installing ClearTunnel. I also read through the documentation, but I could not understand how to close the SSL Hole, because it is only a Add-ins of the application filter, web filter and a empty firewall policy under the Doman Name Sets. The users could anyway access the blocked site such as www.facebook.com, www.youtube.com .... through www.ibypass.com

Hopefully that someone can help me. Thanks again

PS!! I am using the trial version
