right now I just have a hub hooked up to the DMZ card of the ISA firewall and if I plug in a computer it can talk to internal and get internet as it's supposed to.
However, I want wireless enabled on this section and I'd like to try it with a cheap linksys router.

This router does it's own translation like a firewall. So I'm going to plug it into the hub which is on the 172.16.0.x subnet and then have it's local IP go to 172.16.1.x.
So that means that all of the wireless clients will appear to be on 172.16.1.x.

I'm getting internet access and I can contact the other networks, but the ping times are really big. I'm getting things like time=3459 and 2456.
Is this just because I have a 10Mbps hub or is there something I have to do with the firewall access rules or static routes that would help?

Hi W,

Use a WAP instead of a wireless enabled NAT device. There could be an issue with the cheap NAT device and the double NAT through the ISA firewall, or some other issue. A plain WAP will give you full performance unencumbered by issues with the "routing" features of the NAT device.
